Day 10 is rainy and chilly and makes me long for a fireplace.
I juiced for variety and quantity this morning and got pretty ambitious:
#1 - a vegetable/fruit concoction:
1 large cucumber
1 wedge of red cabbage
1 small lemon
1 green apple.
It had a pretty sharp flavor from the lemon, which helped retain the pretty cabbage color. The cucumber skin added the bitter greens flavor and the apple had a sharp, but sweet flavor. It had a surprisingly decent aftertaste. I think I need to add one more ingredient to balance the flavors better, but overall, not bad for throwing things together. The color, temperature and flavor kept all the way to work and until I had "lunch". Lemons are magic.
#2 - simple fruit
1 large Fuji
1 "small" bunch of red grapes - basically two handfuls of grapes I think
1 small lemon
This one is sweet, but not too sweet thanks to the magic lemon. I think it's a really good balance of tart and sweet. Tasty.
#3 -
and the third was pure OJ
Quite yummy. :)
While cutting the first orange for juice #3, I sliced my finger, but I powered through the next two and coagulated quickly. I guess that's just the price you pay for fresh-squeezed. hehe
I have been hitting GT's Kombucha pretty hard during this fast, so I may technically be "cheating" due to the non-organicness of it and the slight fermentation, but I don't care. :) I have loved having the empty bottles around because they're great to apportion juices and not have to carry such heavy big bottles with me every day. Plus, I'm helping the environment. Yay!
Alright, time to get some work done I suppose.
